and it stinks! This has been going on since Friday; Saturday wasn't too bad, Sunday was miserable. I took care of the sound board for the Sunday morning service, but told Pastor I wouldn't be there for the evening service. I actually went to bed early and slept late (until 7 am on Sunday!) for two days in a row. Today I am feeling better, but didn't go to the nursing home to visit my mother-in-law because I don't want to take a chance on sharing this with so many people who are already ill and/or susceptible.
Instead I've been knitting on my mother-in-law's socks. I'm almost done with sock #1; I've finished through row 50 (of 65 rows, before beginning the toe).
I also pulled out my Schacht Matchless and started a spinning project. I'm planning superfine laceweight, and this is Sereknity Fiber's Superwash Merino (now Mad Color Fiber) in the colorway "Crush". I have two braids of this, about 8 oz. total.
This is the start of my lace project. I put a piece of pipe insulation on the bobbin to pad it for lace spinning.
Close-up of my lace project. The variegated pink is the Crush, the yellow is a piece of standard sewing thread (probably a 50-weight thread), and the light strand is a piece of size 20 tatting thread. Click for bigger!
